Features

They live in the western part of South America around the Humboldt Current. They feed on fish such as sardines, crustaceans, and mollusks that live in the same waters. They build nests in caves in rocks or tunnels dug in the sand, where they breed and raise their young. They molt once a year, and spend this time on land rather than in the water.
