Saltwater Fish
It grows to be the largest among the pelagic family. Its large mouth allows it to eat fish the same size as a striped jack.
This fish lives in the deep sea. It is edible and apparently delicious. At our museum, you can see it in the cold water fish section.
Birds & Others
It is a type of isopod, the same family as pillbugs. It is called the cleaner of the ocean floor because it eats the carcasses of living creatures. It can swim using the swimming legs on its abdomen and its tail.
The famous Giant Isopod lives deeper than this Deep-sea giant isopod and is even larger.
The world's largest octopus, with a total length of over 3m. It prefers crustaceans but also preys on large creatures such as sharks. It is known for laying eggs on rocks and protecting them until they hatch.
As the name North Pacific giant octopus suggests, the flesh is watery and not suitable for eating. That's the fate of a large body.
The world's largest crab, found around Japan. Its leg span can exceed 4m, but it can also move quickly to prey on fish. In the spring, it sometimes comes to shallow waters to spawn.
This giant crab lives in the deep sea and has very long legs, making it very impressive. You can see it in the cold water fish section at our museum.
A type of stickleback fish characterized by its long, tubular snout. Its snout is tubular like a straw. Its head is usually pointed slightly downward.
This fish is characterized by a straw-like mouth called a proboscis, which it uses to suck in and eat food.
