Terms of Use and Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

This is to ensure that everyone has a fun, comfortable and relaxing time.
Please also be mindful of manners and morals.

Basics

  • Please note that the lighting will be turned off in some areas of the building, so please be careful when using your smartphone whilst walking as there is a risk of colliding with other customers or with posters, etc.

  • Please note that operations at this hotel may be canceled or delayed without prior notice.

  • Please be aware that there are slopes and stairs in some areas of the building.

  • Please note that for the safety of our customers, we have installed surveillance cameras within the venue.

  • We do not allow members of organized crime groups or those associated with organized crime groups to enter the building.

About the phone

  • Please refrain from talking on your mobile phone or smartphone in places where you may disturb other customers.

About Children

  • There are areas where you may come into close contact with the animals, so please make sure to keep an eye on your children at all times.

  • Preschool children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when visiting the museum.

  • Please be careful not to leave valuables or luggage in strollers, wheelchairs, etc. Please note that the hotel will not bear any responsibility for accidents caused by customer negligence.

  • For safety reasons, we do not allow the use of roller shoes. If you are wearing roller shoes, please remove (store) the roller portion.
    Please note that the museum will not bear any responsibility for any accidents that occur while using roller shoes.

About the Content

  • To maintain the health of the animals, please do not feed them anything other than commercially available food.

  • To protect the animals' habitat, please refrain from tapping on the aquarium glass.

  • Please follow the instructions of staff when using the Touch Pool.

  • Please refrain from taking the exhibited creatures out of the water or harming them.

  • Please refrain from putting your hands into any tanks other than the Touch Pool, damaging the exhibits, or introducing foreign objects into the exhibits.

About the shoot

  • Please note that in order to take photographs for news reports, advertisements, promotions, and product sales, some viewing areas may be reduced in size and customers may be the subject of photography.

  • To ensure that everyone can enjoy themselves comfortably, there are some rules in place if you are taking your own photos.
    Please refrain from taking photographs of the following:

    • Flash photography inside the museum
    • Photographing non-public areas (construction or renovation areas, etc.)
    • Commercial filming that leads to copyright infringement
    • Taking photographs of an unspecified number of customers, which may cause inconvenience to other customers

    The above is just an example.

  • If staff determines that your activity will cause inconvenience to other customers, if there is a risk of damage to the facilities, or if the safety of staff is a priority, they may ask you to cancel your activity. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

  • Regarding the publication of photographed images and videos, please note that the museum will not be held responsible for any troubles that may arise from the publication of photographs or videos in which other guests appear.

About bringing in

Please refrain from bringing the following items:

  • Pets and animals (excluding service dogs, guide dogs and assistance dogs)

  • Large luggage such as carry cases (suitcases, trunks, and similar large bags), carts for carrying items, vehicles, etc.)

    This includes transporting people in carts.
  • Bringing in food such as packed lunches and drinks, bottled or canned drinks, alcohol, etc.

    Baby food can be brought into the hotel. For meals, please use the cafe on the first floor of our building. If you have dietary restrictions, please consult with a member of staff regarding bringing in food or drink.
  • Flying walkie-talkies, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones, etc.), or radio-controlled aircraft within the hotel grounds is a violation of aviation law. Please refrain from using them as they may pose a danger to other guests.

  • Weapons and weapons, guns, swords, rifles, model guns, airsoft guns, handcuffs, water guns, sprayers, etc. (including manufactured items, imitations, toys, and handmade items)

  • Pepper spray, stun guns, or any other dangerous items

  • Flammable liquids (which may explode, ignite, or emit toxic gases), explosives, combustible materials, compressed gases, and poisonous substances

  • Radioactive materials and other harmful substances

  • Items generally considered dangerous or that may cause harm to other customers

    Excluding products sold at the hotel.
  • Flags, handheld microphones, whistles, etc.

  • Balloons (if they fall into the tank, they can be swallowed by the fish and cause harm)

  • Anything that may cause inconvenience to other customers

Regarding conduct and prohibited items

Please refrain from the following actions:

  • Sale and display of goods

  • Distribution of flyers, etc.

  • Rally, speech

  • Running inside the building

  • Smoking in the building

    Smoking and drinking alcohol are prohibited by law for those under the age of 20. (We may ask for your age when ordering alcoholic beverages.)
  • Someone who is completely drunk

  • Climbing or hanging from decorations, fences, etc.

  • Sitting on stairs, floors, banisters, etc.

  • Noisy behaviour

  • The act of leaving trash behind

  • Dangerous behavior in queues and behavior that causes inconvenience to other customers

  • Feeding or touching animals outside of designated areas

  • Any act that interferes with the operation of the museum

  • Entering the museum wearing costumes, such as cosplay costumes, is prohibited.

  • Entering the facility in clothing that violates public order and morals

  • Holding photo shoots and meet-ups at the aquarium

  • Commercial photography, videography, filming, etc. and photo shoots

  • Using the aquarium for commercial purposes for any reason without prior permission

    At the discretion of the museum, you may be asked to leave or barred from entering the museum.
    Please note that we will not refund admission tickets or provide any other compensation for damages suffered by violators.
  • If you are deemed to be causing inconvenience to other guests or if you do not comply with Code of Conduct, we may refuse you entry or ask you to leave the premises.

  • DMM KARIYUSHI AQUARIUM(operating company: DMM.com LLC) will not be held responsible for any accidents caused by customer negligence, except in cases where a legal obligation to compensate arises.
